Meeting the 10 Emotional Needs of the Soul

Every winter, I enter into three days of meditation as part of an ancient and on-going visioning ceremony for the world.

These ceremonies are always powerful and deep, but this year’s insights caught me by surprise, and I want to share my discoveries with you.

In this ceremony, the elders and I enter into the depths of Sacred Feminine essence, Holding without judgment all who come to be Held.

We don’t fix, heal or mend anyone. We don’t try to make anyone better. We simply hold all—people, animals, aliens, and the earth—in unconditional love.

We typically begin by Holding ourselves and then for three days we Hold individuals within various groups like: politicians, judges, people in prison, children in hospitals, mothers, fathers, etc.

A New Way to Approach Emotional Pain and Emotional Healing

But this year, we received a new way to Hold people. It began with a vision from a past life in which I remembered what it was like to be wanted and received at the time of my birth.  I had no idea I needed to remember this, or that it could fill me with so much joy.

We then Held people whose spirits came to us, according to their fundamental emotional needs.

These emotional needs were more expansive what I have learned and have taught over the years.

emotional healingFor years, I have taught that in order to heal and expand in consciousness, we need to discover and meet our unmet emotional needs.

Those emotional needs have included feeling heard, seen, respected, honored, validated, appreciated, worthy and accepted.

I’ve shared with you the story of my MS, and my own need to feel special—as well as the changes that took place—as I allowed my need to be filled from deep in my soul during quiet moments.

During this recent ceremony, I was given a new way to look at our emotional needs.

emotional healingThe approach I received was created by women who, on a daily basis, observed and consciously worked with the development of their emotional bodies and souls.

Their insights, as given to us by Grandmothers on the other side of the veil, are part of the Path of the Sacred Feminine. And we have discovered that their wisdom about the healing of emotions was (and still is) quite profound.

All the core needs identified above are encompassed within these 10 emotional needs of the soul.

Here are the emotional needs the Grandmothers suggest lie at the root of your soul’s development, beginning before you were conceived and concluding after you cross over:

(These are general categories of ages, and vary with each individual.)

  1. Feeling Wanted – anticipating you with desire (pre-womb and in the womb)
  2. Being Received – welcoming you into family (at the time of birth)
  3. Held in Wonder – delighting in your unique explorations and perceptions (ages 0-3)
  4. Being Appreciated – honoring your attempts as much as accomplishments (ages 3-7)
  5. Feeling Needed – helping you see how your community involvement counts (ages 7 – 13)
  6. Being Accepted – recognizing the significance of your ideas and feelings (ages 11 – 19)
  7. Being Acknowledged – nurturing and challenging you to make a difference (ages 20-40)
  8. Feeling Recognized – honoring your bodies of work and legacies (ages 40-90)
  9. Being Released – letting you go from earth to make a joyful transition (dying)
  10. Being Remembered – honoring you for touching people’s lives (other side)

emotional needs

Those emotional needs have included feeling heard, seen, respected, honored, validated, appreciated, worthy and accepted.

I’ve shared with you the story of my MS, and my own need to feel special—as well as the changes that took place—as I allowed my need to be filled from deep in my soul during quiet moments.

Because of humanity’s current state of evolution and each person’s karmic lessons, not all of these needs get met at their appropriate times.

But if all our soul’s emotional needs were not met with the love and help of our communities, the needs can still be met.

We can emotionally heal our soul’s unmet emotional needs through Holding.

I was amazed at how quickly an individual’s energy shifted as they were lovingly Held in the core need they most longed to fulfill.

In my letters to you, I’ll be sharing insights from each of these fundamental needs, so you can consider how they might be showing up in your life. Here’s an article about the significance of the first emotional need, feeling wanted.

I’ll also show you how to take each of these needs into Holding.

I hope you will join me in this journey, as we meet the soul’s emotional needs.
