Guided Meditation for Holding the Need to Feel Needed; The Fifth Emotional Need of the Soul
Find a quiet space. Sit comfortably and close your eyes. Breathe gently into yourself until your mind and body quiet down. Become aware of your heart and breathe. Just breathe until your mind and body become still and your heart and mind open.
Allow yourself to think about the ways you do or do not feel needed. Let these thoughts and feelings rise and fall within your love. Hold them as you would hold a child that felt put upon and overwhelmed, or a child that felt he or she wasn’t important. Hold the sorrow and the anger associated with your feelings.
Now Hold the ways in which it felt good to be needed in your life. Honor the ways in which being needed served you and others in a positive way.
Bless each person who was involved with your journey around feeling needed. Bless them as a unique expression of the Divine, and a powerful teacher for you.
When you have experienced as much love as you can hold, breathe deeply, exhaling through your mouth, bringing yourself into the awareness of this moment. Wiggle your fingers and toes. Gently open your eyes. Live in peace with others.
Do this meditation regularly if you feel your emotional healing will benefit by fulfilling this emotional need of the soul.
