Taking the Concept of “There Are No Others” into a Holding Guided Meditation

You can use the Holding guided meditation to help you find peace with people you don’t understand or get along with. In this article and written meditation, Mother Misa shows you how.

It is natural to think of those we disagree with as “other.”  Whether we are talking about family members, people of different religions or political parties, unfamiliar people in a different country, or spirits on the other side of the veil, we can quickly categorize people who are different from us as “other.”

The problem with this is that we are focused on our differences rather than our similarities. We all too quickly abandon our compassion and relegate “them” to a lesser position in our minds and hearts.

In the case of families, we might find ourselves holding on to this position even if the “other” person has died. While they have moved on to a whole new and better existence in consciousness, we might be holding a memory of them as an opponent. When this happens, we lose the ability to gain strength and wisdom from what they learned during their lifetime.

This Holding Guided Meditation helps you let go of the concept of “other,” so you can receive the gifts of our collective evolution, whether the person you are reflecting about is on this side of the veil or has crossed over.  —Mother Misa

You can download a free audio recording of a basic Holding Meditation on our home page. Here is the specific Holding guided meditation for times when someone has become an “other” in your life.

Find a quiet space. Sit comfortably and close your eyes. Breathe gently into yourself until your mind and body quiet down. Become aware of your heart and breathe. Just breathe until your mind and body become still and your heart and mind open.

Become aware of yourself—your beautiful, complete and wondrous self. Notice your personality, beliefs, desires. Notice your pain and regrets. Notice all of your experiences as experiences of the Divine exploring itself through your body, mind and heart. Recognize the curiosity of the Divine that flows through you. Recognize the love that is always there within you. Become aware of your great discoveries in this lifetime.

Now allow yourself to become aware of someone else. Notice their beautiful complete and wondrous nature. Notice their personality, beliefs, desires. Notice their pain and regrets. Notice all of their experiences as experiences of the Divine exploring itself through their unique body, mind and heart. Recognize the curiosity of the Divine that flows through them. Recognize the love that is within them. Do this again with yet another person, and with as many people as you wish. Notice that we are all unique expressions of Divine exploration. The concept of other is simply a way to experience differences—flavors of living. Allow yourself to remember and feel our oneness in Divine love.

When you feel full, breathe deeply, exhaling through your mouth, bringing yourself into the awareness of this moment. Wiggle your fingers and toes. Gently open your eyes. Live in the awareness of Oneness.
